These new school rules are out of control. Can’t miss a day without threats (and sick notes aren't good enough) Can’t have their phone (or any method of contact outside the classroom) Can’t even share lunch with a friend (even if it's the only real "meal" their friend gets) Here’s the truth— They’re our kids first. I’m their mama, and mama knows best. My child’s safety, mental health, and well-being come before any policy. No apologies! And honestly? Just one more reason I’m so glad we homeschool! I used to hate myself. Not just dislike. I’m talking full-on self-destruction mode. By the time I had my first child at 18, I’d already lived through enough trauma to fill a lifetime: My dad cheated on my mom with my "best" friend when I was 12 (on top of multiple other younger girls that had been our neighbors). I faced physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological abuse that left me numb. I truly believed I would never amount to anything. And some days, I didn’t even want to try. But here’s the wildest part of healing: I no longer hate myself. I no longer believe I was meant to be broken. I no longer carry the weight of who hurt me like it's my identity. And I’m finally starting to see myself through the eyes of the people who love me. Today, I’m a better mom. A better sister. A better daughter. A better friend. Not perfect — but grounded. Not flawless — but whole. And if you're somewhere in the middle of your mess right now, let me just say this: Your past does not get the final word. Healing is real. And you’re worth fighting for — even when it doesn’t feel like it. 💜
